Who actually needs a 1099 this year?

The threshold jumped from $600 to $2,000 for 2026 — and half the internet still says $600. Upload your vendor payments and get a straight answer per vendor: needs a form, likely exempt, excluded, or missing a W-9. Parsed in your browser, never uploaded.

1099 Readiness Check2026 threshold: $2,000
Drop your vendor payments CSV here or click to browse · vendor name + amount paid works · parsed on your device, never uploaded

$600 is last year's number.

For 2026 payments, you file 1099-NEC/MISC for vendors paid $2,000 or more — not $600. Payments by credit card or PayPal are excluded (the processor reports those). Corporations are generally exempt. Miss any of the three and you'll either over-file or miss someone in January. Read the full 2026 threshold guide →

Fair questions.

Is it really free?

Yes — unlimited vendors, no signup.

Is my vendor data safe?

Your CSV never leaves your device. Everything is computed in your browser.

What about the exceptions to $2,000?

A few categories keep lower thresholds — royalties at $10, attorney proceeds at $600. This tool applies the general $2,000 NEC/MISC rule; check edge cases with your advisor.

A vendor is missing a W-9 — now what?

Use our free W-9 request tool — send them a link, they fill it in their browser, done. Collect now, not in January.

Know your 1099 list before January does.
